Functional health

 

Whilst I can work with you on your own individual health goals, and chosen route of getting there, I am additionally trained and passionate about the principles and implementation of Functional Health, which is the lifestyle side of Functional Medicine.

Functional Medicine seeks to identify and address the root causes of disease, looking at the body as one integrated system. It treats the whole system, not just the symptoms, and supports the unique expression of health and vitality for each individual. It is based around patient-centred care and collaboration between patient and their doctor, looking at genetic, environmental, and lifestyle factors that can influence long-term health and complex chronic disease.

Functional health coaching embraces the same principles of individual client care. I work with you - the whole person, and support you to rebalance your lifestyle in a way that works for you and your unique goals; whether that be dealing with stress, weight loss,or recovering from and even preventing any of the chronic diseases.

In my functional health programmes I can work with you directly (with the permission of your GP) on the elements of functional health or in partnership with your functional medicine practitioner using their treatment plan. Although there can be more education in functional health coaching than normal health or wellbeing coaching, we will still very much work to your agenda.
